They offer unparalleled convenience, cost savings, and environmental benefits. By embracing this technology, we can accelerate the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable transportation system. I live in the Southwest with relatively flat roads and when I had my 2018 Chevy Bolt, I could easily average in the mid 5s going 65 on freeways and 5mph over on streets with a max of 50mph. Often I would obtain mid 6s if I avoided freeways. When I had a 2013 LEAF, I once drove it a world record 188 miles on ONE 94% charge (it lost 6% just sitting on the lot) by hypermiling. If I had had the full 100% battery capacity, I know I could’ve gotten 200 miles. The
EPA was around 75 miles. So if you want to get more miles out of it per charge in the Midwest, try to avoid fast starts, time the lights, and stay off freeways when you can. That will boost your m/kWh. When I bought it the lifetime average mi/kWh was 4.4 and that remains now. I live in the PNW, mostly drive 55 - 60 mph freeway to commute (a majority of my driving), and the route is undulating hilly. I plan to move to the Midwest soon and wonder, since it’s relatively flat, if I’ll notice an efficiency increase. I’ve noticed here that backroads at 45 mph, while a bit hillier, achieve better efficiency than the freeway. If I find backroad routes in the Midwest that should compound improvement over my current commute. Imported from San Diego with 35,000 kms on it we have put 5,000 KMs in last 5 months and love the car! we named it the humbler! In canada there are not a lot of sparks as they were not sold here new so most people think it is the standard sprk until i push the car picking up speed shocking the high end sports car owners :) Love driving by gas stations and payback on purchase price I have calculated at just under 4 years against last years fuel bills. Only issue did not come with fast dc charging have contacted GM dealer who could not handle request said not possible to upgrade just put in a request to big GM dealership hope they can do job! overall 5-5 love car!!!!!Rural Scrawlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10616447407279053685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6875771813122616391.post-48170397861089636982020-08-21T05:22:02.277-07:002020-08-21T05:22:02.277-07:00Seems to me the way to check usable battery capaci...Seems to me the way to check usable battery capacity would be to fully charge the battery then turn on the car and run the air conditioner WITHOUT ever moving the car till battery is drained. Running the Heater and defroster also uses a lot of energy and slow traiifc with all of that on is really bad.
I'm lucky and live in Warm Chandler-Phoenix Arizona. Most days are 50 to 60F EVen in winter. My 2016 Spark EV with 28K miles on it still gets 110 miles on the Guess o meter. I get 6 to 7 mi/kWh . My battery capacity using a Torque Pro is still about 17 kWh.
In Summer the HEAT is hard on a battery so we have to keep it plugged in all the time so the cooling system will be on and active. I use the simple 120 cord and it works fine for me. I do have DC Fast Charging and that is handy for trips but I like free Level 2 charging the most. jiminyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03741339778160607330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6875771813122616391.post-49756896270206422872020-01-08T12:33:23.920-08:002020-01-08T12:33:23.920-08:00well i have one and its winter here in ohio. ive f...well i have one and its winter here in ohio. ive found that if i leave the car to charge in the garage( not heated but attached) it will charge up to about 60-65 miles i drive 25-35mph city for about 10 miles to drop off my kids to school then back roads 55mph for another 20 miles to work then 20 miles home. i leave the heat on 80F with the fan on the lowest setting and make it home with 10-20 miles under no snow on the road conditions trying to never accelerate over 25 KW power usage. one day it was snowy and with heat on for only some of my home ride i made it with 3 miles to spare. there are no chargers on my drive. there is one near work at the chevy dealer they said i could use but im trying to not ware out my welcome there charging for free. i just got the car a month ago and hope to get better mileage in the spring. also i almost always drive in L to regen the most when snowy this is a bad idea you slide like crazy, very scary.1qwk72https://www.blogger.com/profile/09781136519696056322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6875771813122616391.post-36967436972190716662020-01-08T12:32:19.761-08:002020-01-08T12:32:19.761-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.1qwk72https://www.blogger.com/profile/09781136519696056322noreply@blogger.com
